This study presents the Spanish adaptation of the semi-structured Psychiatric Research Interview for Substance and Mental Disorders (PRISM-5) based on the DSM-5 criteria, designed to evaluate substance use disorders along with other mental disorders (dual disorders). After translating and culturally adapting the tool, its reliability was evaluated in 197 patients from Spain and Argentina. The results show a good diagnostic agreement (kappa between 0.62 and 0.83) for most substance use disorders and several mental disorders. This evidence supports that the Spanish version of PRISM-5 is valid and reliable for the clinical diagnosis of dual disorders.
