What is RIAPAd?

RIAPAd is the Research Network in Primary Care for Addictions, made up of 19 leading research groups working in 10 autonomous communities in Spain.

General coordinator: Marta Torrens Melich

Responsible for the operational strategy of RIAPAd and the organization of the network’s scientific and informative meetings. Representative of RIAPAd before national and international organizations.

With more than 20 years of experience in collaborative research, we work to ensure that science does not stay in laboratories, but reaches where it matters most: to patients, their families, professionals and society as a whole.

At RIAPAd we promote innovation, training and dissemination, promoting new ways of understanding, preventing and treating addictions. We do this through rigorous research, scientific publications, conferences with professionals and patients, clinical projects and an active presence at national and international conferences.

Our commitment is clear: to put the knowledge obtained in the prevention and treatment of addictions at the service of people.

To promote collaborative research on addictions from primary care, generating scientific knowledge that improves prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and that directly reaches patients, families, professionals and society.

To be a national and international reference network in translational research on addictions, capable of transforming clinical practice and public policies through science, innovation and continuing education.
